The number of deaths in Argentina from the influenza A/H1N1 virus climbed to 12 Tuesday, after the health authorities of northern Cordoba province confirmed three more deaths.
According to official sources in Cordoba, some 700 kilometers west of Argentine capital Buenos Aires, victims included a 57-year- old man, a 62-year-old woman, and a patient who died at the Italian Hospital in Cordoba's capital city.
Over the last week, a total of four people have died from A/ H1N1 in Cordoba.
Cordoba health authorities also reported a total of 40 confirmed cases of the A/H1N1 virus and "another 18 possible cases under study". A massive vaccination program has been launched in the province.
So far, 12 people have died from A/H1N1 in Argentina, including seven in the province of Buenos Aires and one in the northeastern province of Santa Fe. Endi
