Uruguayan soccer star Diego Forlan, 34, will get married with Paz Cardoso, a 23-year-old student, in a private ceremony in Montevideo on Tuesday, local press reported.

Forlan arrived in Montevideo after he played in Brasil at the Confederations Cup, where Uruguay ended in the fourth placing. After his wedding, he will only have a three-day holiday before returning to the Brazilian team Inter, where he currently plays.

The civil marriage ceremony will be held Tuesday night in Cardoso family's home, in Carrasco neighborhood, very near from Forlan family's home. Later, guests and the newlyweds will celebrate in a small private cocktail party.

The religious marriage ceremony will be held December 12, when they will organize a great party, according to versions of people close to the couple.

The forward and best player in South Africa 2010 World Cup made official his relation with Paz last summer and since then they have been a low-profile couple.

Paz is a medical student and also plays field hockey.

Forlan was about to get married back in 2011 with Argentine model Zaira Nara, but the wedding was suddenly cancelled less than one month before the scheduled date. Endi
