Three security workers at Amsterdam's Schiphol airport have been arrested on charge of stealing money and electronics during passenger security checks, the Dutch military border police service announced Friday.

According to the military police, smartphones, IPads and other expensive items were stolen from passengers during security checks at the airport. Due to the rush at the airport passengers only noticed something was missing after the checks.

A 5-month investigation involving secret cameras to monitor staff activity started in February, after many passengers filed a police report.

"The integrity of the airport was at stake so we wanted to trace the thieves as quickly as possible," a police spokesman told local media.

This is not the first incident where staff at Schiphol airport have been arrested. In November last year, a group of 20 workers were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. Endi
