Peruvian authorities have seized 96.4 kg of cocaine in the central Andean town of Huancayo and arrested five suspects, the National Police said on Friday.
The haul, composed of 93 sealed packages, was hidden inside the back seat of a car that was used by a drug-trafficking ring to transfer drugs from the Andean region to capital Lima, police said.
According to the police, the five suspects arrested in Thursday's operation were all Lima residents.
They have been taken to the Anti-Narcotics Prosecutor's Office for questioning and further investigation, the police said.
Peru, neighboring Colombia, is considered as one of the world's main suppliers of cocaine. Endi
