Liberian President Ellen Johnson- Sirleaf has suspected four senior officials for one month for lateness to work, the Presidency announced on Wednesday.
A statement made available to Xinhua revealed that the affected officials were absent from work as at 9:00 a.m. local time, when the president visited their offices on Tuesday.
The suspended officials include Cole Bangalu, deputy minister for administration; Richard Ngafuan, assistant minister for research and statistics; Prince Korvah, assistant minister for regional labor affairs; and Daniel Johnson, the superintendent of River Gee County in the southern portion of the West African country.
According to the statement, the suspension of River Gee County's superintendent was compounded based on recommendations from the Ministry of Internal Affairs for violating the government's procurement and financial rules.
All financial entitlements of the suspended officials would also be withheld by the government till their sanction is over, the Presidency said. Endi
