The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has assured that the Super Eagles would defeat Malawi in their upcoming 2014 World Cup Qualifier.

James Peters, an assistant technical director with the NFA told reporters in Abuja on Tuesday that the association was confident of victory for the Super Eagles, based on what they now have.

The Super Eagles now have more experience than they had during the first leg match against Malawi at Blantyre in June 2012, the top official said.

The Super Eagles will face the Flames of Malawi in a must-win match at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar on Sept. 7.

The match is the two teams' last Group F fixture in the Brazil 2014 Africa Zone Qualifying Series second round.

Nigeria have nine points and merely need to only avoid defeat to reach the 10-team final elimination round, while Malawi need an outright win to advance.

Peters said the experience the Super Eagles' players got from their recent outings would be an advantage to them.

According to him, the Nigerian side now posed a threat to many of their African counterparts.

Also speaking, the director of competitions for the association, Sanusi Mohammed said the NFA is committed to creating a conducive condition for the Super Eagles to win their next World Cup qualifying match.

Mohammed told reporters that the NFA was not bothered about the antics of the Malawians, but was rather focused at ensuring that the Eagles had all that they needed to succeed.

"As we all know, the Malawians have been talking tough ahead of the encounter, but that is not our focus at the moment as a body," he added.

"All we want at the moment is for our team to go all out and guarantee us a place in the play-off; then we can look ahead from there," he said.

"We are focused on dwelling on how to create conducive playing conditions for our players to thrive in that encounter," Mohammed told reporters.

According to him, the NFA was optimistic that the Eagles would overcome the Flames when they meet in Calabar, stressing, nothing but a victory.

The director urged Nigerians to pray for the team as they get set for the all important tie in September.

The first-leg match between both sides in Blantyre on June 9, 2012 ended in a 1-1 draw. Endi
