A Russian pop singer blacklisted by Washington might meet Edward Snowden next week to see whether he was tapped by the United States, the singer's representative said Tuesday.

"Grigory Leps is in Vladivostok now. He'll come back on Nov. 15, after which the decision will be made," the Interfax news agency quoted Leps' press secretary Maia Serikova as saying.

Leps, whose passport name is Grigory Lepsveridze, has been wanted by the United States for allegations of being a member of a transnational organized criminal ring.

Leps, 51, an honored performer and producer who composes and sings pop songs, denied all the U.S. allegations.

"This is absurd ... I am a law-abiding person," Leps said on his website.

Snowden's attorney Anatoly Kucherena said last week that the former National Security Agency contractor could speak to Leps about whether U.S. intelligence services had tapped the singer's phone.

In "A Manifesto for the Truth" published in a German magazine on Sunday, Snowden said those who speak the truth are not committing crimes. He called mass surveillance a global problem that needs global solutions. Endi
