The arena, where the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sochi Winter Olympics will be held, has been designed to fit the best television broadcast possible, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday.
"The stadium has been built according to the scenario of opening and closing ceremonies," Putin said during his visit to the 40,000-seat Fisht arena in the Black Sea resort city.
Putin was accompanied by CEO of the Channel One TV, Konstantin Ernst, who is in charge of the two ceremonies.
Ernst accompanied Putin to the VIP lounge Putin would occupy during the opening ceremony on Feb. 7, 2014 and closing ceremony on Feb. 23.
After visiting the Fisht, Putin held a closed-door meeting in which preparations for ceremonies were discussed.
Putin demanded more work for the Sochi Olympics preparation on Thursday, saying that it is still far from perfection. Endi
