France's consumer prices index (CPI), a key gauge of inflation, remained stable at the end of November following a decrease of 0.1 percent a month earlier, French national statistics bureau Insee said on Thursday.

Year on year, the inflation rate grew by 0.7 percent, according to the economic report.

In November, the country's CPI remained unchanged as "the price indices of the different sectors moved in a different fashion than food prices and those of manufactured products increased slightly while prices of transport and communication services declined significantly," Insee said.

After four consecutive months of decline, food prices inched up by 0.1 percent on surging prices of fresh vegetables which stood at 4.9 percent after they had declined by 6.1 percent in October.

As for manufactured goods, costs grew slightly by 0.1 percent, with clothing and shoes prices up by 0.1 percent.

A 1.2-percent fall in transport and communication activities pulled down the total services' costs by 0.1 percent over the period and so as for energy prices which decreased by 0.6 percent on falling costs of petroleum products. Endi
