Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday spoke highly of Deng Boqing, the outgoing Chinese ambassador in Nigeria, for boosting bilateral ties.

At an audience with the Deng, Jonathan said relations between Nigeria and China tremendously developed during Deng's tenure in the last three years and bilateral trade witnessed a phenomenal increase.

The president commended China's support for the rehabilitation of Nigerian transportation infrastructure and the development of water and power sectors, calling for greater investment from China in agricultural and other key sectors.

Deng, who arrived in Nigeria to assume office in September 2010, said his most fulfilling assignment was facilitating Jonathan's state visit to China in 2013.

He assured the president that he would continue to work for the expansion of the cordial relations between both countries wherever he finds himself. Endi
