A key tunnel on the pan-European highway achieved breakthrough in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on Friday.
The 2.85-kilometer tunnel, located near Sarajevo, is on the highway corridor 5C, which connects central Europe to the Croatian coastline.
BiH Foreign Minister Zlatko Lagumdzija, Prime Minister of Federation of BiH (FBiH) Nermin Niksic and high officials from the transportation department attended the ceremony.
Government officials hoped future work on the road would continue smoothly which will play an important role for economic development.
BiH contains the longest section of corridor 5C with a total length of approximately 335 kilometers. The project enjoys strong support from the European Union and the BiH government. Endi
