The Philippine government (GPH) is seeking the possibility of signing a final and comprehensive agreement on Bangsamoro (CAB) with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) either in February or March this year, a government official said Sunday.

The envisage followed the signing of the annex on normalization and the addendum on Bangsamoro waters last Saturday in Kuala Lumpur.

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said on Sunday,"there is no definite schedule yet but somewhere there."

The government panel in December said that they hope to sign the CAB within the first quarter of the 2014 which would be followed by the enactment of the Bangsamoro Basic Law by 2015 and the holding of a plebiscite and eventually the election of the local leaders by 2016.

MILF has been fighting government troops for decades to establish a self-rule Muslim state in southern Philippines. The Aquino government signed with MILF the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro on Oct. 15, 2012. Endi
