Terracotta Warriors in Edinburgh for Chinese New Year celebration

One hundred colorful lanterns of China's famous Terracotta Warriors are being exhibited in the University of Edinburgh to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

The spectacle since its inception on Jan. 30 has attracted a daily 4,000 visitors.

Terracotta Warriors lanterns was first shown in Beijing during the 2008 Olympic Games. It drew extensive attention from both media and people across the world, with its unique originality, stunning visual impact and exquisite hand-crafting.

Different from the Beijing exhibition, the new show in Edinburgh displayed new warrior figures besides the traditional male ones. Women and children figures are first shown at the 400-year-old university.

In addition, 10 warriors on the display are hanging with iPads that are playing videos of the excavation process of the undergrounded terracotta soldiers in northwestern Shaanxi Province.

The exhibition is scheduled to end on Friday. Endi
