Belarusian Foreign Ministry criticized the West on Monday for human rights violations.

Belarusian Foreign Ministry has prepared report on human rights violations in European Union (EU) countries, the United States and Canada, Yury Ambrazevich, head of the Ministry's multilateral diplomacy department, told reporters here Monday while presenting the report.

According to the official, the document covers the countries, which have introduced sanctions regarding Belarus based on the assessment of the situation on human rights in the country.

Ambrazevich said the report includes 21 EU countries, the U.S., and Canada. Cases of discrimination, racial enmity and dispersal of mass events are mentioned. "The cases, which had the highest profile in the public and political lives of these countries are stipulated in the report," he added.

"Belarus is often labeled as the country that has the worst human rights record in the region, and even in the world. We want our people and foreigners to clearly understand that this is absolutely not true," he noted.

In Minsk, such actions are considered an obstacle for Belarus' development, Ambrazevich said. "The Foreign Ministry is forced to spend efforts not on constructive cooperation but on lifting these obstacles," he added.

"Belarus is not aspiring to teach anyone, we are learning ourselves," Ambrazevich added. Endite
