The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 8. 76 points, or 0.46 percent, to close at 1,932.06. Trading volume stood at 217.82 million shares worth 3.19 trillion won (2.98 billion U.S. dollars).

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand stocks rose as earnings growth from Australia & New Zealand Banking Group and signs of an improving Australian economy lifted sentiment on companies doing business across the Tasman, such as Fletcher Building and Ebos Group.
The sharemarket closed 0.3 percent higher on Tuesday with the benchmark NZX-50 index rose 15.83 points to 4848.88 and a turnover of 105.2 million NZ dollars (87.27 million U.S. dollars).

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 1.06 percent higher on Tuesday.
The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index gained by 63.78 points to 6,106.03. The all-share index also went up by 33.01 points, or 0.90 percent, to 3,710.31.
