The Irkutsk Drug Supervision Bureau in east-central Russia said Tuesday a drug dealer from Afghanistan was captured with 5 km of heroin found in his car.

The man was captured at a freeway entrance in Usolye-Sibirskoye, where narcotics officers uncovered 25 packs of heroin hidden in his vehicle.

According to the report, the detained drug dealer could be imprisoned for 10 to 15 years due to the huge amount of drugs. The police were hunting for intended buyers and sellers of the batch.

The authorities said so far this year, 40 km of illicitly trafficked heroin had been found in the region, of which 35 km was carried by Afghans. Endi
