A Yemeni military helicopter carrying 10 people made an emergency landing in the southeastern province of Hadramout on Sunday afternoon, a government official told Xinhua.

The Russian-made Antonov AN-26 helicopter landed in a desert area near a checkpoint manned by tribesmen in Hadramout, the local government official said on condition of anonymity.

According to the official, the crew attempted an emergency landing after a technical glitch.

There are no reports of any injuries.

An army officer told Xinhua anonymously that all members of the air forces on board were unharmed.

Tribal sources said: "Armed tribesmen sealed off the regions and restricted the access to the crash site... The pilot and all the military officers may remain in tribal custody."

On Oct. 15, 2012, a military helicopter crashed near the Anad air base in Yemen's southern province of Lahj due to technical problems and the pilot died later from serious injuries. Endi
