The sultan of Brunei Darussalam, Hassanal Bolkiah, attended the eighth annual Chinese Lunar New Year get-together celebration with the local Brunei Chinese community at the International Convention Center here on Monday.

About 1,500 individuals attended the celebration, including other members of the royal family and the country's ministers and deputy ministers.

The audience were entertained by traditional Chinese dance performance, Malay traditional dances and Wushu display by local Chinese students. Adding to the celebration, the organizing committee has also showcased an exhibition featuring the evolution of Chinese wedding customs from the traditional ones to the modern ones. Endi
