Russia was interested in producing trucks and cargo wagons in Angola to shore up commercial ties with the African country, Russian Ambassador said here on Thursday.
"This year and next, we intend to implement the construction of a plant for Kamaz trucks and cargo wagons, thus ensuring jobs and contributing to the development of Angola," said Ambassador Dmitry Lobach after meeting with Angolan Vice President Manuel Domingos Vicente.
The diplomat said investment evaluation was currently under way and the results might be seen in the coming two to three years, should the parties come to an agreement.
Trade volume between Russia and Angola was estimated at 37 million U.S. dollars in 2012 and 100 million dollars in 2013. Figures are expected to reach 400 million dollars in 2014.
The ambassador said Russia was also interested in building up a terrestrial station in Luanda and planned to launch into the space the first Angolan satellite. Endit
