British Prime Minister David Cameron will make a number of commitments at the ongoing Nuclear Security Summit (NSS) in The Hague of the Netherlands to further tackle the threat of nuclear terrorism by working closely with allies, Downing Street announced Monday.
Cameron is expected to demonstrate Britain's commitment to preventing nuclear terrorism, with a particular focus on "developing and sharing best practice on nuclear security," especially in areas in which Britain is a world-leader, a Downing Street statement said.
Britain's commitments will also include improving nuclear security around the world and increasing support to international organizations dedicated to reducing the risk from nuclear terrorism, according to the statement.
During the prime minister's visit, leaders from G7 countries will also discuss how they can further "encourage" Russia to deescalate the situation in Ukraine and what Russia's recent actions mean for the G8, the statement added.
The third NSS is being held in The Hague on Monday and Tuesday, aimed at preventing nuclear terrorism around the globe.
The NSS has become an important platform to address nuclear security issues since its inception in Washington in 2010. The second meeting was held in Seoul in 2012. Endi
