Website launched for China-Russia Youth Year

The official website of the China-Russia Youth Year of Friendship Exchanges was launched here Friday, heralding events to promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Co-sponsored by the Chinese Education Ministry and China Radio International, the website -- www.sinorusyouth.com -- will serve as a platform to release official information concerning reciprocal events between China and Russia through photos, text and multimedia ways.

During Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Russia last March, Xi and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, agreed to hold the China-Russia Youth Year in 2014 and 2015.

An inventory of activities, including a youth exchange program that involves 100 schools and 10,000 students from both countries, will be held after an opening ceremony of the Youth Year on Friday evening. Endi
