Sweden's third largest party the Green Party released its proposal focusing on supporting the education system and youth employment partly through raising high earner's income tax, local media reported on Wednesday.

The Greens proposed to higher the income tax by three percent for those whose earn more than 40,000 Swedish kronor (about 6,090 U.S. dollars) a month, said the Swedish online daily the Local.

"We're laying out a fully financed budget with plans to get more people employed, especially the young, and in which we also take new steps to reduce our impact on the climate," Per Bolund, the party spokesman, was quoted as saying by the Local.

"We also want to target the Swedish schools so that more people can leave with passing grades," Bolund added.

The Green party aims to create 50,000 new jobs within education and according to Bolund 11.7 billion Swedish kronor (about 1.8 billion U.S. dollars) more would be injected into education in the next four years than the government has said it would, the Local reported.

The Green party is Sweden's third largest party, following the Moderates and Social Democrats, claiming 7.3 percent of the votes in the 2010 election.

The election of Sweden will be held in September of 2014. Endi
