New dengue fever cases diagnosed in northern Mozambique

Health authorities in the northern Mozambican province of Cabo Delgado on Friday confirmed 13 new cases of the dengue fever, local radio reported on Friday.

The 13 cases were diagnosed at Pemba provincial hospitals' laboratory in the last 24 hours.

The patients were admitted to the health facility immediately. "People don't know about dengue. So, they must go to the nearest health units to test, so that they can know their status," said one of the hospital's medical chiefs, Paulina Agostinho.

A week ago, the hospital confirmed 16 cases of the disease. These people are still in hospital receiving treatment and no death reported yet.

Dengue's manifestation includes fever, headache, weakness and coughing badly. Endi
