The European Union's foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton announced on Friday the appointment of new Heads of EU Delegations to three African countries.

Christian Manahl, Michael Doyle, Antonio Sanchez-Benedito Gaspar were appointed as Head of the EU Delegation to Eritrea, located in the Horn of Africa region of east Africa, Lesotho, a landlocked country completely surrounded by South Africa, and Madagascar, an island country off the east coast of Africa, respectively.
