Colombia's army killed six rebels of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) during military operations over the weekend in the country's southwestern Valle del Cauca and Cauca departments, authorities said on Monday.

"Six FARC terrorists were killed in different clashes with the National Army's Third Division. Seven other rebels were captured after intense fighting during the weekend in the municipalities of Silvia and Santander de Quilichao in Cauca, and in Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca," a military statement said.

Colombian Air Force bombed a FARC camp in Silva and killed three rebels. Valuable war, communication and logistic materials were seized and handed over to the authorities, including two personal computers belonging to the column's leader, four radio scanners, a cellphone, a signal inhibitor, military uniforms and field equipment, the army report said.

Meanwhile, Colombia's Pacific Navy killed other two FARC rebels during clashes in a rural area nearby Buenvanetura, Valle del Cauca.

Troops from No. 8 Battalion fought members of FARC's sixth column 'Jacobo Arenas' in a rural area of Santander de Quilichao, leaving a female narcoterrorist dead, the statement added. Endit
