A Greek urban guerilla group claimed on Wednesday responsibility for a bomb attack on a Greek diplomat's car in Berlin which caused only material damages, according to Greek national news agency AMNA citing police sources.

The group, Conspiracy of the Nuclei of Fire- Nihilists Sect, said in a proclamation released in the internet in German language that they intended to expand their "struggle" against the "monster which serves the current status quo."

The attack on the vehicle of Greek consul Aris Radiopoulos, which was parked outside his residence, occurred before dawn on Wednesday.

It was the third attack by Greek terrorists on cars of Greek diplomats serving in Germany in the past two years, and the first time however that the group which is considered as one of the most dangerous groups operating in Greece for years claims responsibility.

In December 2013 Greek terrorists made an armed attack on the German ambassador's residence in Athens which caused no injuries.

Greece has suffered domestic terrorism for decades. Attacks on political, police and financial targets have increased since the start of the financial crisis in 2009.

Anti-German sentiment has been also on the rise in Greece in recent years due to the German government's staunch pro-austerity stance in the management of the Greek debt crisis and the wider financial crisis in Europe. Endi
