The participation of foreign ministers in an ongoing meeting in Vienna on Iran's nuclear program can help the progress of talks, senior Iranian lawmaker Alaeddin Boroujerdi said here on Friday.

Greater authority will add more vigor to the talks, Boroujerdi, head of Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, was quoted as saying by official IRNA news agency.

What the Islamic republic insists on is its nuclear rights enshrined by the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Boroujerdi said.

The Iranian legislator also said that the talks are very tough since it is not quite clear whether the two sides could reach a final agreement by July 20.

Iran and the so-called P5+1 group, five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany, started new round of talks in Vienna on July 2 to make diplomacy efforts to find a solution to Tehran's nuclear program.

On Thursday, media reported that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and other foreign ministers from the negotiating countries for a comprehensive nuclear deal with Iran will join the talks in this weekend. Endi
