EU expands sanction list over Ukraine issue

The European Union (EU) added 15 further individuals and 18 entities onto its sanctions list over Ukraine situation on Friday, the Council of EU said in a statement.

The sanction targeted persons and entities "responsible for action against Ukraine's territorial integrity." The EU will impose asset freeze and visa ban towards them.

The expansion brings the number of persons currently under EU sanctions in connection with the situation in Ukraine to 87 while the number of entities will rise to 20.

The sanctions will enter into force later today when the detail of the list published on EU journals.
