Italian coach Claudio Ranieri signed on Friday a deal to manage the Greek national football team over the next two years, the Greek Football Federation announced.
Ranieri took over from Portuguese Fernando Santos who left after leading Greece to the Round of 16 in the World Cup in Brazil earlier this summer in an unprecedented success for Greek football.
With a strong background of management in several major European squads such as Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus and Monaco, Ranieri said that he plans to "keep the team's spirit" and make changes to ensure more successes in the future.
The squad's first match under Ranieri is scheduled for September for the Euro 2016 qualifiers. Endi
