Vietnamese athletes leave for Youth Olympic Games in China' s Nanjing

A delegation of 13 Vietnamese athletes left for China' s Nanjing on Wednesday to participate in the second Youth Olympic Games.

Vietnamese athletes will compete in seven sports including swimming, weightlifting, rowing, gymnastics, taekwondo, badminton and beach volleyball.

The Youth Olympic Games are an elite sporting event held every four years for young people aged 15-18 from all over the world.

The 2014 Games will be held in China' s Nanjing from August 16 to 28, encompassing all 28 sports on the Olympic program.

At the first Games took place in Singapore in 2010, Vietnam won one gold medal to rank 41st out of 84 countries and regions. Endi
