The Czech government will provide 3 million crowns (140,000 U.S. dollars) in humanitarian aid and material help to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) to fight Ebola in Africa, Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka announced Thursday.

The announced came after a meeting with director of the MSF's Czech branch Pavel Gruber and several other Czech government ministers.

Sobotka told Gruber that the Czech government was ready to transport aid to Africa through the Defense Ministry.

However, he dismissed speculation over the deployment of Czech medical workers on the ground.

Czech Interior Minister Milan Chovanec said protective aid to be sent to Africa will mainly be one-use items such as clothes for doctors, gloves, field beds and tents. He said the final list will depend on the MSF's requirements. Endit
