At least one person was killed and 15 others were injured as a blast hit Pakistan's southwestern district of Sibi on Saturday morning, local media reported.

The injured include three children, said the local media.

According to reports, the blast took place at about 10:40 am when a remote-controlled bomb fixed on a motorbike went off near a vegetable market on the Mir Chaakar Road of the city.

The blast also destroyed a car and 16 motorcycles parked nearby the market, said local media, adding that some of the buildings near the blast site were also damaged.

Police, security forces and rescue teams rushed to the site immediately following the blast and shifted the victims to hospital where three of the wounded were said to be in critical condition.

Police said the target of the blast was the vehicle of the Deputy Commissioner of the city, but the official escaped the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Endi
