Nickel loses 2.41 pct on LME Monday

The base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed mixed on Monday.

Copper price rose on Monday, after earlier touching their lowest level in almost three months, as the dollar pulled back from an earlier four-year high against a basket of currencies.

The three-month unofficial copper price increased 33 U.S. dollars, or 0.49 percent, to 6,744 U.S. dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial nickel price lost 412.5 U.S. dollars, or 2.41 percent, to 16,725 U.S. dollars a tonne.

Besides, the London Metal Exchange (LME) announced on Monday it will combine current transaction fees into a single trading fee from January 1, 2015, with an average increase of 34 percent.

The new simplified tarif will provide an "all-in" transaction fee in a single currency, the U.S. dollar, the LME said in a statement.

The three-month unofficial aluminium price increased 9 U.S. dollars, or 0.46 percent, to 1,961 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial lead price decreased 4 U.S. dollars, or 0.19 percent, to 2,080 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial zinc price increased 10.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.46 percent, to 2,287 U.S. dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial tin price lost 175 U.S. dollars, or 0.85 percent, to 20,350 U.S. dollars a tonne. Endit
