Head coach of the Zambia national soccer team has called 12 players ahead of next week's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match against Niger, the country's soccer governing body said on Wednesday.
Honor Janza has recalled China-based striker James Chamanga, who missed last month's qualifier games against Mozambique and Cape Verde but South African based striker Collins Mbesuma has been sidelined.
The must-win Group F game against Niger for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations has also seen Democratic Republic of Congo based striker Jonas Sakuwaha, midfielder Mukuka Mulenga and defender Joseph Musonda, based in South Africa as well as Egypt-based Felix Katongo.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) spokesperson Nkweto Tembwe, who released the list, said the foreign-based players were expected to link up with 17 local players currently in camp after playing for their respective clubs at the weekend.
Janza has also called five players from the under-20 national soccer team.
The 2012 African winners are third in Group F with one point after recording a barren draw against Mozambique and losing 2-1 to Cape Verde in qualifiers played last month. Cape Verde leads Group F with six points while Mozambique has two points. Niger has one point.
The Chipolopolo will face Niger on October 11 away before hosting the West African nation two weeks later.
