Syrian airstrikes kill 25 in Homs province: activists

As many as 25 people, including women and children, were killed overnight by Syrian airstrikes and shelling against rebel-held areas in the country's central province of Homs, a monitoring group reported on Sunday.

About 18 people, including ten kids and three women, were killed in the airstrikes against the city of Talbiseh, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based watchdog group relying on a network of activists on ground. It said that 16 killed were from a same family, and that the toll is likely to rise due to the grave conditions of the wounded.

Meanwhile, six men and a child were also killed during the shelling against the rebel-held al-Waer neighborhood in Homs overnight, according to the Observatory. It said the Syrian air force has carried out around 533 airstrikes against several Syrian cities in recent days.
