Algeria, Tunisia agree reconciliation, talks ways to solve Libyan crisis

Algeria and Tunisia agreed that reconciliation and dialogue are the way to settle the Libyan crisis, visiting Tunisian Foreign Minister Elmoundji Hamdi said on Thursday in Algeria capital Algiers.

Algiers and Tunis "share the same view in terms of encouraging Libyan brothers to resort to reconciliation and dialogue to solve the crisis hitting their nation," Hamdi said during a meeting with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra on Thursday.

Hamdi started an official visit as of Wednesday to Algeria in a bid to enhance bilateral ties between the two countries and continue the consultations between them in the overall regional and international issues of mutual concerns.

In September, Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra announced that his country was to host peace talks between the Libyan warrant parties to defuse the crisis, but the talks have not took place yet due to the intensification of the armed conflicts between the disputing parties in Libya.

Lamamra said Algeria's peace initiative encourages a comprehensive peace dialogue in Libya without any foreign intervention and called on Libyan disputing parties to "reach a ceasefire first." Endi
