French distance runner Laila Traby, women's 10,000 meters bronze medalist of this year's Euro Athletics, was quoted by Wednesday's L'Equipe that she's "falsely accused" of containing doping material.

The 35-year-old was taken into custody on Friday, according to L'Equipe on Tuesday, after police found banned performance- enhancing EPO and other products at a search in her apartment in Fount-Romeu where she was training in the Pyrenees.

Traby, bronze medalist on 32 minute 26.03 seconds after trailing British Jo Pavey and Clemence Calvin of France at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich last August, insisted on maintaining her innocence.

"I'm going through a tough time at the moment," she responded on her Facebook account. "I'm falsely accused. I'm the victim of a conspiracy. I was trapped and it's completely a set up."

"Several people were present with me at the training base and are therefore likely to be involved in this case, near or far," she added.

The Morroco-born, who came to France in 2005, has undergone a doping test after being freed by police but the French Athletics Federation declined to give details about when and where Traby was tested.

The results should be available this weekend, according to the FFA, who simply said "it's still an ongoing investigation." Endite
