International experts focus on more practical aspects to build Silk Road Economic Belt

Governmental representatives and experts from more than 10 countries exchanged their practical views Friday in the International Conference about "Common Development and Prosperity of the States along the Silk Road" held in the capital city of Kyrgyzstan.

The participants discussed cooperation in political and homeland security affairs, appraisal and future perspectives for development of various sectors of the economy, as well as cooperation in cultural and humanitarian areas between the countries located along the Great Silk Road.

During the assessment and economic sectors development prospects in the context of Silk Road, more experts focus on practical aspects, such as the report on "current state and investment attractiveness of the agricultural sector of Kyrgyzstan " and the report on "project regional transport corridor".

Meanwhile, participants also held in-depth discussions on issues like terrorism and security of countries along the Silk Road and the geostrategy in the region.

Former Shanghai Cooperation Organization General Secretary, Imanaliev Murabek mentioned in the discussion, the initiative " Silk Road Economic Belt" proposed in 2013 by Chinese President Xi Jinping is actively promoting the regional cooperation. This initiative gave more meaning to the ancient Silk Road, and will create a new historical process.

Director of Central Asia Institute from Shaanxi Normal University, China, Li Qi told Xinhua that the delegates, according to the history, the reality and plans about the future, discussed how to build together the Silk Road Economic Belt. They proposed lots of good ideas and recommendations.

Li said one of the main features in the seminal is that people now talked more practical aspects than before. And she believes this trend will promote the cooperation along the Silk Road economic belt.

The International Seminar on "common development and prosperity of countries along the Silk Road," is organized by the National Institute for Strategic Studies of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Committee of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic for International Affairs.

Governmental representatives and experts from more than 10 countries, including China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, US, Afghanistan, India, as well as representatives from international organizations attended the seminar. Endite
