Two Palestinians armed with knives were arrested near an Israeli settlement in the West Bank on Sunday, local media said.

The security chief at Adam, a 5,000-member settlement northwest of Jerusalem, caught the two men after they aroused his suspicion and alerted the police. Knives were found in their belongings in later searches.

Israel public radio said it was unclear whether the suspects intended to carry out a stabbing attack in the community or burglarize a home.

They were handed over to the Shin Bet security service for questioning, according to reports.

In a separate incident earlier, a four-year-old Israeli boy was wounded when Palestinian hurled stone at his family's car while traveling in Gush Etzion, a settlement bloc south of Jerusalem.

The boy sustained light injuries from glass shards and was treated at a local clinic. Endit
