The Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry provided a total of 499,500 euros (about 609,000 U.S. dollars) in humanitarian aid abroad this year, ministry spokesman Peter Stano said on Saturday.

A total of 110,000 euros were allocated to aid for Syrian, Palestinian and Kurdish refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

In May, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina were hit by the worst flooding since the beginning of flood records 120 years ago. The ministry responded by sending 260,000 euros to help the two states.

Ukraine has received 114,500 euros from the ministry so far.
