Thousands of Cameroonians from all walks of life held a march Saturday in Yaounde to support the army in their fight against Nigerian Islamic sect Boko Haram who is wrecking havoc in the north of the country.

The solidarity march was organized by a political group and attended among others by Speaker of Cameroon's National assembly Cavaye Yeguie and some cabinet ministers.

According to one of the organizers Fonka Beau Bernard, "It's an opportunity for us to say thank you to our brave soldiers for the sacrifices they are making.....We want our soldiers to know that they are our heroes."

The participants from north to south and east to west irrespective of their political, linguistic and cultural backgrounds came out like one person with one message -- encouragement to the soliders against one dreaded enemy -- Boko Haram.

Labor and Social Security Minister Gregoire Owona said the presence of all from all backgrounds was testimony to unity of all Cameroonian against Boko Haram who continues to destabilize social and economic life in Nigeria, Cameroon and other neighboring countries.

Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, Benin and Niger announced a proposal recently to form a multi-national troops of 8700 to fight against Boko Haram. Endi
