Portugal to pilot test new air border control system in EU

Portugal will be the first country in the European union (EU) to test the new management of air border control system, which aims to control the inflow and outflow of foreigners, Portuguese Lusa News Agency reported on Thursday.

According to Lusa, the system will register the time and point of entry and exit of third-country nationals travelling to Europe, while the registered travellers program will enable more frequent travellers to enter the EU with simpler procedures.

The program will be tested during six months in six countries. The pilot tests will kick off in Portugal on March 15. Endit
