Turkey rules out swine flu outbreak despite rising death toll

A total of 30 Turkish people died from H1N1 virus, known as swine flu, during the past four months, Turkish health minister said on Monday.

Meanwhile, five other people died form influenza B virus and four others died from H3N2 virus, Mehmet Muezzinoglu said at a press conference in the capital of Ankara.

The minister ruled out a swine flu outbreak in Turkey, despite a sharp increase in number of swine flu death from 11 on March 17.

Gumus did not consider the situation as epidemic, adding that there was an increase in the number of sick people since early 2015 due to seasonal cold. Endit
