Turkey decided to lift visa requirement from Polish citizens, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Wednesday.

In return, the minister asked facilitation in visa procedure of Poland, a Schengen country, for Turkish nationals.

The Turkish foreign minister also expressed gratitude for Poland's backing on Turkey's EU membership bid.

Schetyna, for his part, said Turkey and Poland were in cooperation for modernization of Polish defense systems.
