A gas pipe explosion has occurred near a cement plant in Pha-an, Myanmar's southeastern Kayin state, but with no casualties, the local 7-Day News reported Tuesday.

The blast took place with the pipeline transmitting gas to the Myaingkalay Cement Plant in Pha-an at 5 p.m. local time Monday and the explosion shook the city.

It happened when the pipeline started to retransmit the gas after minor repair of the pipeline a week earlier, the report said, quoting local police as saying.

The explosion was initially found taking place at a valve designed to store the gas, the report said, however, part of gas could be re-stored after the explosion.

The case is under investigation by local police. Endi
