South Korean pair Lee Sohee and Shin Seungchan beat Chinese duo Ou Dongni and Yu Xiaohan 2-0 in the women's badminton doubles final at the Gwanngju Universiade here on Sunday.

The Chinese duo started stronger, leading by 7-4, but Lee and Shin quickly battled back with smashes and quick shots, turning on the power for taking the game 21-16.

The second game saw the Korean pair taking the lead and they managed to fend off an attempted Chinese comeback with a determination to get back every shot and pulled away to win 21-13.

"We didn't perform our best today. We know our opponents and often compete together, so it's a pity that we can't find the right way to win them," said Ou Dongni.

"I just feel tired because we played a lot here including the team event and the doubles. I didn't feel comfortable these days, so maybe that's why I can't find my rhythm today," said Yu Xiaohan.

In the men's doubles, Kim Gjung/Kim Sarang of South Korea ousted Chinese Wang Yilyu/Zhang Wen 21-16, 22-20 to win the gold medal. Endi
