Iceland's Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.16 percent as of the middle of July, according to statistics issued on Thursday by Statistics Iceland.

Based on the collected sample, the statistics showed the CPI in July was 430.0 points, increasing by 0.16 percent compared with 429.3 points in middle of June.

Among factors influencing the CPI were the cost of owner-occupied housing that rose by 0.8 percent, the international airfares that rose by 32.7 percent, and the ongoing summer sales that caused a decrease in prices of clothing and footwear by 11.6 percent.

Price statistics are based on price collection that takes place for at least one week in the middle of each month. Enditem
