The home of Finnish Finance Minister and chairman of the ruling National Coalition Party Alexander Stubb was vandalized overnight, said the Finnish government in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.

The statement said that the intruders entered the yard of Stubb's home and broke the windows. A police investigation is now underway.

According to the Finnish national broadcaster Yle, Stubb was not at home when the incident happened. His family reported the incident to the police. The family members were not hurt.

Stubb, currently attending the party's summer meeting of ministers in Rovaniemi, northern Finland, told Yle that he would not take any action himself.

"We cannot under any circumstances allow fear to take control," Stubb was quoted as saying.

Juha Sipila, Prime Minister of Finland, who is currently visiting Lebanon, in a tweet condemned the vandalism. Enditem
