Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen met with U.S. actress and filmmaker Angelina Jolie Pitt on Thursday and the two discussed nature conservation work and a documentary film, a senior official said.

Eang Sophalleth, an aide to the prime minister, said it was the second time that Jolie met with Hun Sen after the first meeting in 2004 when the prime minister allowed her to conserve about 60,000 hectares of forest in the Samlout area in far northwest Cambodia.

"Jolie told the prime minister that her forest conservation project has worked smoothly and the forest area is beautifully green, which is contributing to the conservation of Cambodia's natural resources," he told reporters after the talks.

The Hollywood star also informed Hun Sen about her documentary film project in Cambodia.

For his part, the prime minister supported Jolie for producing a documentary film about Cambodia, saying that the film would reflect the past truth in the country.

Jolie starred in "Tomb Raider," an action-adventure film famously shot at Cambodia's Angkor world heritage site in 2001. And in 2002, she adopted a boy, Ford Maddox, from a Cambodian orphanage. Endi
