Iceland's unemployment rate stood at 3.8 percent in October 2015, registering a year-on-year decrease of 1.2 percent, according to a labor force survey issued Wednesday by Statistics Iceland.

The survey showed the number of people in the labor force market in October 2015 was 189,400, of which 7,200 people were unemployed.

Seasonally-adjusted data showed that among 191,400, the number of unemployed people amounted to 7,600. The unemployment rate was 4 percent in October which is the same as it was in September.

Seasonal adjustment is a statistical method for removing the seasonal component of a time series that is used when analyzing non-seasonal trends. Endit
